It is true to say that most homeowners consider their bathroom to be very little more than a room full of tile along with shiny fixtures and fittings. Many plants simply cannot take the mousse, hairspray, and perfumes that are used on a regular basis in a bathroom. It will gum up the plants leaves and they will end up in your compost bin. If your bathroom is large enough, you can hang up plants from the ceiling, or arrange them on the back of the toilet. Large garden style bathtubs have sufficient space on the rim of the tub to place miniature plants, and together with bath soaps and baskets, they look stunning.

Rugs and towels play an important role when accessorizing your newly decorated bathroom. For a feeling of sheer elegance, you will not go far wrong with hand woven or deep plushy throw rugs. Nevertheless, when purchasing the rugs, consider the type of bathroom floor covering you are placing them on since they can present a slipping danger when placed on a lino or tile floor. To prevent this, look for rugs that have either a non slip or rubber backing. Try coordinating your new rugs and toilet mat in either matching or alternate colors. When blended with a neutral background, different textures work well to make an inviting, comfy warm feeling to your bathroom.

If you have youngsters in the home, I would suggest that all lighting should be fixed and out of reach of little wet hands. That aside however, you can leave night lights on when the bathroom is not being used and if counter top space permits, a small lamp. You can then fit lamp shades that match your general theme.

You might well chance upon wonderful themes that you did not even know existed. It is your little corner of the world, so be as different as you want when dressing your home bathroom
